Healthier oil alternative | Stable Soybean Oil without Hydrogenation

Developed to meet the trans fat challenge, Plenish® soybean oil, made from high oleic soybean varieties developed by DuPont Pioneer, combines high performance characteristics with a healthier oil profile.

The Plenish high oleic soybean oil profile

  • Plenish oil has an oleic content (Omega-9 monounsaturated fatty acid) of more than 75%, the highest of any soybean under commercial development
  • Plenish oil has 20% less saturated fat than commodity soy oil
  • Plenish oil has 75% less saturated fat than palm oil
  • Plenish oil has a linolenic content of less than 3% for improved oil stability

What causes trans fat?

Trans fat is produced during a process called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation increases the stability of oils and lengthens the shelf life of packaged foods. But the process has an unfortunate by-product—trans fat.

High oleic and stable

Oil made from high oleic soybeans is extremely stable—without hydrogenation. Plenish’s fat profile means food manufacturers and restaurants may put a 0g trans fat label on their products without sacrificing shelf life or performance.

Consumers can now enjoy the foods they've always loved, with 0g trans fat and with less saturated fat.
